Chief Randy Johnson and Officer David Russell Honored for their Public Service
Lawrenceville, Ga – March 26, 2015 – The City of Lawrenceville congratulates Chief of Police Randy Johnson and Officer David Russell on being recipients of this year’s VALOR Awards, a Public Service Awards Program hosted by the Gwinnett Chamber.
Chief Johnson received VALOR’s Public Service Leadership Award for his dedication and influential service to impact and support a stronger, safer local community. Officer Russell received the Silver Medal of Valor Award for his exemplary act of bravery in the line of duty.
Mayor Judy Johnson attended the awards program along with Council Members Bob Clark, Tony Powell and Keith Roche. Mayor Johnson said, “Lawrenceville is privileged to have such exemplary leaders on our Police force. Their daily dedication to protect and serve enables residents to enjoy a safe community and we congratulate both of these men on their recognition today.”
The VALOR Awards program is led by a steering committee comprising public service representatives from across Gwinnett’s Cities, the County and the Chamber. Lieutnant Ryan Morgan serves as Lawrenceville’s representative on this committee.
